For the next week, we will incorporate Breath of Fire within our practice.
The Breath of Fire activates and balances the Third Chakra, where we stir our lives with words, thoughts, and actions.
The benefits include;
- decreases stress and anxiety
- increases energy and focus
- improves the lung capacity, digestion, and immune system
- strengthens core muscles
- detoxifies
- balances the nervous system
How to practice the Breath of Fire
It is a bellow breath. Even inhale and exhale. The emphasis is on the exhale, drawing the navel towards the spine. On the inhale, you relax the navel. Start slowly to build awareness before increasing the pace.
The contraindications (when should we not practice) are your heaviest menstrual days, pregnancy, or hernia. If you fall into these categories, please allow an easy belly breath. Inhale and exhale evenly through the nose.
