Om shanthi(peace) everyone!!! What a fantastic 'soft opening'. I am so excited for you to be joining us as we just begin to explore how much there is to learn and practice in yoga. Let us here from you; who and where are you tuning in from?
Each week I will be working to add more classes. You will be able to identify those new classes as the dates will be indicated them. My goal is that you have a nice balanced variety of both the yang(energetic, masculine, strong) and yin(softer, feminine, passive) practices.
I encourage you to play with all the different styles. Sometimes when we are mentally exhausted, it seems like we need to 'rest', but in actuality sometimes we need to get into the body to move through the heaviness of the mind. Other times when things are stir crazy around you and within you, the stillness and softer practices will allow you time to rest and digest what is.
The yin practices (restorative, yin, yoga nidra) are great to practice anytime. The yang practice that will awaken and revitalize you is Kundalini Yoga. Hatha Yoga is a yang practice however can be done at anytime.
Would you be interested in a 'blog/workshop' category? A place to listen to some of the philosophy, learn how to move yoga into your life off the mat, and offer time to journal. They would be no more than 30 minutes 'Food For Thought' categories. I would love to hear your feedback on this!
Any questions, concerns, or feedback on anything - please post! Our community is building and as you have a question arise - I am positive someone else is also wondering it too. This is a place for us to support each other.
A home practice is much different than group classes. YOU are your greatest cheerleader!!! When you get tired, bored, or discouraged the brain will become louder. It will try convince you to press 'pause' or just "stop' the video all together. Remember to do the best you can where you are - the challenge within the challenge. Pause without stopping the video or walking away...choose to stay connected.
Thanks again and Sat Nam(I bow to truth within you),
Dawn
