Hi everyone!
I hope this finds you well. I have just updated the websites "30 Day Challenge" to include 2 months of a guided practice.
I am sure you already know it doesn't take many days of NOT doing something to fall out of that habit. But did you know it takes 40 days to create a new habit?!
Think of when you started anything good for yourself how hard it was in those first few weeks. It was like a crazy detox! However, once you got into week 3 it got a little bit easier and actually began to feel good. A sense of pride and accomplishment was felt when you showed up for yourself.
I call this stage the honeymoon. You are in a romance with a new, better way and getting to know yourself along the way. It's exciting!
By day 40 of doing ANYTHING, you have created a new habit. Whether it be a good one or not, you are in control of continuing to drive the action behind this habit. You are either fueling it or you can choose to deprive it.
Check in with where you are right now. What are you doing daily? Does it match where you want to be? Whether it is a positive or negative action/inaction, decide to keep doing it or sever ties with it.
On Yoga DiVita's website I have added 2 months of a guided practice. A home practice is tough, however it can be the easiest to show up for. Whether you are in your PJs, work clothes, or even butt naked - there is no excuse. The drive to your mat is only seconds away...get motivated, drop the expectations on how it is supposed to look, and connect to YOU!!!
Let me know how your practice has been over the last few months - if it has dropped off, no worries. Yoga doesn't care. Yoga is your state of being: peaceful, united, and awaits for you whenever and wherever you are. If you have dove into your practice share with everyone why and how it has supported you through this pandemic.
