The Peaceful Breath
For seven days, we move our wind only through the left nostril.
The brain's left hemisphere is primarily responsible for language processing, including speaking, reading, and writing. It also corresponds with logical thinking, analytical skills, mathematical abilities, and controlling the right side of the body. It is considered the "language hub" of the brain.
Energetically, the left nostril is known as Ida Nadi. Ida means "comfort." This channel corresponds with the cooling, lunar, and feminine energy.
When you need to "cool your jets" or soften your life, allow yourself to take 3 minutes to sit tall, close off the right nostril with your right hand, and move the breath in and out the left nostril. Feel the waves of cooling energy soften your body, mind, and spirit.
