Let's Talk About Reaching
It means to arrive at, get as far as, and the extent or range of application, effect, or influence.
Our believed truth may put limits on or allow us to expand in life.
My yoga teacher, Trace Sahaja Bonner, offered a fantastic lesson for us to dictate our intellect/mind chatter when in a witnessing state. These would be moments where you allow yourself to connect to body and mind.
Imagine three pails to sort these 'truths';
- Truths that are not yours. They could be your families, communities, or societies.
- Truths that are yours. You feel these in your heart, in your sighs, or within the butterflies dancing in your belly.
- Truths that are unimportant at the time, like doing the laundry, making a grocery list, or answering emails.
We are very good at distracting ourselves. This practice is fascinating because it offers time to clear the "shoulda, coulda, and woulda" while offering stillness to arrive at your truths.
When you get annoyed, overwhelmed, or angry - there is truth within those feelings.
Maybe you are tired, hungry, bored, or feeling unsupported.
When you feel peace, excitement, or joy - there are truths within those states of being.
Maybe you are content, satiated, passionate, or happy where you are.
The practice asks you to stick around to notice why these emotions are rising.
With time and a few breaths, you may notice a soft acceptance to where you are and a letting go of the grips of what is not serving you.
Remember to show up, and you will be held up!
Also, if you need assistance moving through heavy emotions, please consider professional help. There is no shame in this, only pure strength and courage.
I see you!

The Kirtan Kriya for New Beginnings
